Experience the wild at Mara Trails Camp. Powered by solar energy, our camp harnesses the sun’s rays for clean, renewable electricity. We use energy-efficient LED lighting and maximize natural light and ventilation in our accommodations. Eco-friendly practices extend to water heating, waste management, and conservation plans for linens. Our commitment to sustainability ensures you can enjoy the beauty of the Masai Mara while minimizing your environmental footprint, making your stay both luxurious and responsible.
ECO-CONSCIOUS BY DESIGN
Conserving Resources
Mara Trails Camp was designed from the ground up to be eco-friendly. We manage and conserve our energy and water resources using a variety of methods.
Energy. The entire camp is powered by solar panels harnessing the abundant Kenyan sunlight. Our tented accommodations were thoughtfully selected to maximize natural light and ventilation. This reduces the need for artificial lighting and air conditioning. To further conserve resources, we use energy-efficient LED light bulbs throughout Mara Trails Camp.
Water. To conserve water, towels and linens are changed according to a conservation plan, although guests can request daily changes if desired. Biodegradable detergents are used in our daily operations as another eco-friendly practice. Hot water is generated by a natural boiler fueled by firewood, ensuring hot showers without excessive energy consumption.
At Mara Trails Camp, you’ll experience sustainable tourism without sacrificing comfort. Each tent features a modern bathroom, hot & cold water, electricity, and charging outlets for your phone and camera. If you need to connect to the outside world, you’re welcome to visit our reception area to access complimentary wifi. On cloudy days, we use a backup generator to provide power to the camp. You’ll enjoy a comfortable and convenient stay with us no matter the season or the weather.

Our dedication to reducing our environmental footprint extends to waste management as well. We implement responsible waste practices, including composting initiatives, to ensure that waste is processed sustainably. By integrating these eco-friendly measures, Mara Trails Camp strives to provide an exceptional safari experience while preserving the beauty and integrity of our natural environment.
