CARING FOR COMMUNITY
Education Initiatives
Mara Trails Camp is committed the education of local women and children in nearby communities. We donate a portion of our proceeds to create a positive impact in the world around us.
- Provide funding for school lunches for more than 800 children attending Oleigero Primary School
- Cover school fees and uniforms for an additional two hundred students attending the same school
- Founded women’s businesses to support Maasai women in economic independence and sustainability
At Mara Trails Camp, we’re committed to sustainable tourism that has a positive impact on the world around us. Every guest that stays with us contributes to actively supporting local Maasai communities. Economic Initiatives
Beyond education, Mara Trails Camp offers economic empowerment through various initiatives. Through hires, leases, and donations we share economic benefits.
- Ensure the majority of our team are local Maasai, to keep economic benefits in the region
- Provide an annual dental camp to provide checkups and treatments to the local community, at no cost
- Fund local women’s businesses and run a small shop featuring goods made by local women. 100% of the proceeds go to the artisans.
- Submit an annual Community Fee to the Narok County government to ensure tourism benefits are shared equitably with surrounding communities
