A Dream Destination
As a newcomer to land of the Masai, we were expecting a lot of hardships in terms bad food and accommodation but the folks at Mara trails camp totally changed my mind. The stays within the reserve premises and maintaining the aura is so fabulous to marvel at. I could spent hours just sitting at the riverside pavillion itself.
Rooms were very cozy with hot water always available and hot water bags keeping the rooms warm. The manager was very kind and hearing to all our needs however minute they be. The staff were also thoughtful in assisting us to our rooms when we returned late as protection in the very rare case an animal encounter happens. Wifi was restricted to the reception desk and was a bit slow most of times but that’s a minor setback as it allowed for us to mingle with other guests and get to know each other.
The game drives were customized as we had requested for and it was always kept clean and ready for us. Special mention to our tracker Nickson, who is not just an amazing spotter but a skilled driver too, placing the vehicle in right light situations for a good photo capture.

Amazing camp located in a wonderful, optimal location for wildlife viewing in the heart of the Maasai Mara. My family and I really enjoyed staying here, interacting with the staff and other visitors. The food in camp is wonderful and a gets a bonus star from me for being vegetarian friendly! I decided to celebrate my birthday in this camp and was extremely satisfied with the hospitality, sightings from the driver, openness of the customized vehicle (perfect for photographers) and amazing sleeping arrangements! Definitely worth a visit!!!
AN AUTHENTIC EXPERIENCE
We Saw The Big 5
Recently we had the opportunity to visit the Masai Mara with 4 of our friends and we chose Mara Trails as our camp and safari partner on the recommendation of our friend, who had also visited Masai Mara with Mara Trails few months back.
To start with, the managers were very cooperative and always available for any help needed. Our safari captain was a very experienced driver who took tremendous & extraordinary efforts so that we could witness the “Big 5 Animals” as they call it in Mara. Not only did he make sure we saw the Big 5, he helped us witness a live hunt by a lion family.
Food served there was awesome, very healthy. All the other staff who serve us food, bring hot water for us early in the morning and bid good night to our camps safely were very very friendly and joyous.
Our tent camp was just few meters away from the river which had hippos in it, making it another new experience. The meals served to us each day were very delicious along-with being healthy. All the people in the camp were very caring in nature and told us about the “wonders of the Mara”. We stayed for a total of 5 days and every day was a unique experience in the park.

Came back from my trip last week but I wanted to take some time in writing a proper review because this trip was an experience of a lifetime. This was of course my first time in Masai Mara and hopefully the first of many in the coming future. The one thing that I am sure about is that I don’t have to think again when it comes to choosing my stay, it will always be Mara Trails Camp.
I had an amazing stay at Mara Trails and not even for a second I felt that I was away from my home, because the team at Mara Trails made sure that we felt comfortable as if we were at home. The team is so welcoming, kind and the way they greet you, it’s just amazing to be around these people. We were greeted with the traditional dance on arrival. The camp manager Sharath is so welcoming and always there for any needs and requests and he always greets as with that glowing smile which radiates positivity.
